How to assemble and use Elvie Curve

To use Elvie Curve:

  1. Slot the Pouch into the Frame

  2. Place your nipple in the center of the Nipple Hole, so it feels comfortable and it’s not pushing against the inside of the Pouch

  3. Press the Pouch to create suction. If the suction generated feels uncomfortable, gently press the Valve to open it and release pressure

  4. Check your nipple is still central

  5. Position and pull your nursing bra over Elvie Curve. Keep it firmly pressed against your breast with no gaps

  6. If you feel the suction dropping, press the Pouch again to maintain suction and keep the milk flowing. You can do this through your bra. You may need to do this every couple of minutes – you’ll learn what works best for you!

  7. Be sure to keep an eye on the milk level to make sure it doesn’t overfill

How to clean and sterilize Elvie Curve

Before you use Elvie Curve for the first time:
Sterilize it in boiling water for five minutes. Elvie Curve is also suitable for microwave, steam, or cold water sterilizing methods.

After first use:
After every use of Elvie Curve wash it with clean, soapy water before rinsing thoroughly. Alternatively, you can place Elvie Curve on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Elvie Curve will need to be sterilized once a day.

How to dry Elvie Curve

It's important to dry Elvie Curve fully between uses and before storing. To dry Elvie Curve effectively, separate the parts before cleaning and leave separate when drying. We recommend placing the Pouch at a slight downwards angle in your chosen drying space like shown - this allows all water to drain from the Pouch effectively.

How to store Elvie Curve

Before storing Elvie Curve make sure it has been cleaned with soapy water, rinsed and fully dried. Assemble Elvie Curve before storing.

Can I use milk collected in Elvie Curve to feed my baby?

Yes - milk collected in Elvie Curve can be fed to your baby. However, please note that, as with any product, if the milk is collected over extended periods of time and left at room temperature for too long it should not be fed to your baby.

How to get the best suction

It's important to achieve a good, comfortable level of suction to express milk with Elvie Curve. Make sure your nipple is centred in the Nipple Hole and that your bra is holding Elvie Curve close to your chest. When using Elvie Curve we recommend squeezing the Pouch every couple of minutes to maintain a steady suction, but you'll learn what works best for you!

Please note that higher suction does not always mean more milk, so you should never be uncomfortable while using Elvie Curve.

How to pour out milk

Pour milk through the Nipple Hole as shown below. Make sure to tilt the device all the way over to get every last drop.

How long can I wear Elvie Curve for?

Elvie Curve can be worn in bra while feeding or pumping on your other breast, or whenever your breasts feel full. Once you've finished expressing, remove Elvie Curve and pour out the milk into a suitable container. Please note: milk collected over extended periods of time and left at room temperature for too long should not be fed to your baby.

What is the Frame for?

Elvie Curve includes a Frame and a Pouch, and each play an important role for achieving a successful session - you should always use both parts. The Frame is used to protect the Pouch in your bra, preventing it from being compressed in the wrong places, or dislodged from your breast. It also helps to maintain the silhouette of the Elvie Curve.
The Pouch is used to create suction, capture milk and provide a measurement of how much has been collected.
